Also, the locals assured us that the sting of these beautiful jellyfishes wouldn't necessarily be lethal, so we really enjoyed our nice barefooted walk on the beach.
The next day, we headed over to Savannah and did the classical (lazy) tourist thing - a trolley tour through the historical downtown district.
The birth place of Girl Scouts founder Juliette Gordon Low. Yes, I know, their cookies are NOT home made!
(Editorial note: Max found out March 2012 that the cookies were mass-produced instead of lovingly baked by mothers of the girl scouts. After all, he's only lived here three years...)
The harbor district...
Savannah city hall.
... and spending another couple of hours in Charleston, South Carolina...
... and back on the highway to South and North Carolina' other famous attraction: "South of the Border", a run-down mall / amusement park right at - yep, the border between the two Carolinas.
With 500 miles of driving in front of us to our next destinations, Washington, DC and Philadelphia, we couldn't spend too much time here though.
Too bad - we'll never find out what we missed by not visiting "Pedro's Pleasure Dome"...
